If AI produces interchangeable marketing copy, the problem is often not the tool but an ill-defined brand

Pokud AI píše zaměnitelné marketingové texty, problém často není v nástroji, ale v nejasně definované značce

Přepisování zadání nebo střídání nástrojů nepomůže, pokud firma neumí přesně popsat zákaznický problém, svůj rozdíl proti konkurenci a hranice vlastní značky.

To není nutně porucha modelu.

Článek odkazuje na zprávu Jasper State of AI in Marketing 2026, podle níž představovalo řízení značky, dodržování pravidel a hlasu značky hlavní překážku při širším nasazení AI.

If AI produces interchangeable marketing copy, the problem is often not the tool but an ill-defined brand

Rewriting prompts or switching tools will not help if a company cannot clearly describe the customer's problem, its difference from competitors, and the boundaries of its own brand. With vague input, AI naturally drifts toward generic language. For marketing, a well-defined strategic foundation therefore matters more than another library of universal prompts.

Generative AI can easily produce grammatically correct marketing copy. It is much harder to produce copy that truly belongs to one particular brand and could not be used, unchanged, by five competitors. Companies often respond by rewriting the prompt again, changing tools, or heavily editing the output. Yet the problem may arise before the prompt itself: the organization has not defined clearly enough what makes its offer different.

Language models work with huge volumes of public text of varying quality. Without specific constraints, they produce likely continuations similar to language that commonly appears in that type of communication. The result is easily interchangeable wording such as “innovative,” “cutting-edge,” or “groundbreaking.” This is not necessarily a model failure. The system simply lacks the information needed to distinguish the specific brand from its category.

Differentiation therefore has to be built into both the prompt and the workflow. The source refers to the Jasper State of AI in Marketing 2026 report, according to which brand governance, compliance with rules, and maintaining brand voice were the leading barriers to broader AI adoption. Organizations with more advanced use were embedding those rules directly into workflows: before generation, they already had a defined brand voice, approved claims, and documented strategy.

A practical test consists of three questions. What specific customer problem caused the buyer to start looking for a solution? What would a customer say about your company that they would not say about the closest competitor? And what do you refuse to do even though it is common practice in your industry? If the answers are generic and interchangeable with a competitor's answers, the main weakness is not the prompt.

This implies an important workflow change for marketing teams. Do not begin prompt design with a list of desired adjectives or a tone of voice. First give the system information about the customer, the buying situation, concrete evidence, differentiators, and the claims that are or are not allowed. For repeated content creation, it makes sense to maintain this information as a governed shared foundation rather than re-entering it each time.

AI can therefore also serve as a test of strategy quality. If a company cannot explain clearly to a tool why a customer should choose it, the same distinction may not be clear to the people inside the company either. A better prompt may hide that strategic weakness, but it will not solve it.
